Wilton House Porter
In Collaboration with the Wilton House we crafted this porter based on two historic recipes. The first is a Spruce Beer recipe we found in “The Virginia House Wife” Circa 1831 by Mary Randolph. This recipe includes young Spruce Tips (harvested from the brewer’s urban garden spring 2017) Molasses, All Spice, and Ginger. The second, pulled from George Washington’s recipe for a Molasses, Grain, and Hops based porter. We followed these recipes as close as possible including fermenting the beer in oak casks.
Aroma: Chocolate, Molasses, Spruce, Cedar, Cinnamon, Caramel, Nutmeg, Pine
Flavor: Molasses, Chocolate, Pine Resin, Ginger, Mexican Hot Chocolate, Spruce, Oak
We crafted a “Vermouth” in collaboration with the Roosevelt‘s head mixologist T Leggett. As far as beer styles go it is most similar to a Gruit. We have been inspired by the surge in craft vermouths and have brought out very vermouth like flavors, aromas, and bitterness without focusing on hops. Hops dominate the brewing world at present and all the wonderful flavors and aromas of all other botanicals have been all but forgotten. Made with Petit Verdot form our Vineyard and Aged for 7 months in red Wine Barrels.
Aroma: Citrus, Floral, Pineapple, Strawberry, Rosé, Herbs De Provence, Vanilla
Flavor: Bitters, Lemon, Citrus, Herbal, Cranberry, Sour Cherry, Thyme, Blueberry, Dandelion Greens, Blackberry
Tropical & Citrus Fruit Bomb of an IPA made with a Tangerine Puree.
Aroma: Tangerine, Yellow Nectarine, Floral, Mandarin, Candied Orange, Grapefruit, Pineapple
Flavor: Citrus Bomb, Orange Juice, Tangerine, Citrus Zest, Peach, Pineapple
German Rauchbier crafted with whole Virginia Oyster. The salty briny umami flavor from the oysters and shells pairs perfectly with the rich malty smoked character of our Rauchbier.
Tropical and Fruity IPA
Belgian Blonde made w/ local wet hops all grown from Tricycle Gardens and Garden Groves Urban Farm.
Saison crafted with Chef Bryan McClure from Lemaire with the delicious fruity tomato varieties; Orange Brandy Sun Gold, Juliet, Ground Cherry, Striped German Black Cherry, and traditional Cherry Tomatoes.

Refreshingly dry Saison crafted with Stone Brewing. Made with Virginia Grown Vidal Blanc Grapes, New Zealand Nelson Sauvin & French Strisselspalt Hops. Fermented in wine barrels.
lord of the ryes red ipa
Red Rye IPA brewed with rich malts and cryo hops.
Classic Belgian Tripel, brewed with German Hallertau and French Strisselspalt Hops.
RVA Lager is based on a classic German recipe but the hop character is amped up with the help of US Sterling Hops.
Russian Imperial Stout brewed with Rostov's Yirgacheffe Coffee and fermented with English and American Yeasts.
eLIXIR OF LIFE
VMFA Terracotta Army Collaboration. While excavating the army's tomb a vessel was discovered containing a beer made with Millet and Chrysanthemum Flowers. We have recreated that truly historical beer.
Hibiscus harley quinn
Imperial version of our beer Hibiscus Harlequin. Bière de Garde brewed with loads of hibiscus and sweet orange peels. Fermented in 1st fill Cabernet Sauvignon barrels.
The Spice trade
Our Golden Rye balances the fresh fruit esters of strong golden ales with a triple attack of spice from phenols, rye, and a plethora of carefully balanced spices from around the globe.
Unique take on a Belgian Wit brewed in wine barrels with a blend of wit and saison yeast, coriander, orange peel, & grains of paradise.
80 SHILLING Scottish ale
Classic 80 Shilling Scottish Ale . Malty with a dry finish. Caramel and earthy in character.

Pilsner crafted with German Hallertau Blanc Hops
Old IRON DOG OLD ALE
English Old Ale crafted with pomegranate molasses and Petit Verdot Pomace . Dark, rich, and intense. Fermented and aged for 5 months in Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon barrels.
Pilsner brewed with Saaz, Hallertau, and Sterling hops.
A British style brown with an American twist. Clean, drinkable with a restrained bitterness but quite rich in caramel, chocolate, and nuts. Nutella and peanut butter on toast

The Devil Belgian dubbel
Belgian Dubbel crafted with Figs from Garden Grove's urban garden, raisins, currants, beets, and dates. Fermented in Cabernet Sauvignon barrels.

Sessionable IPA brewed with Citra, Palisade, & Centennial hops. Accented with hibiscus, rose hips, apple, and orange.
Fruity IPA crafted with Meridian and Calypso hops.

American IPA crafted with El Dorado, Mosaic, & Amarillo hops.
saison of the witch
Saison crafted for Girls Rock RVA Benefest 2018. In collaboration with Stone Brewing Company RVA & The Pink Boots Society. This Saison is a true Braggot (beer/mead hybrid). Half of the fermentable sugars came from Wildflower Honey. Brewed with organic malts & fermented in red wine barrels.
Perfect summer ale. A hybrid that pulls inspiration from many styles. There are characteristics reminiscent of German Hefeweizens, Belgian Wits, Goses, and Rye ales.
Saison brewed with loads of wheat, Lemon Verbena, Lemongrass, Lemon Peel, and Sorachi Ace hops. Anthem Lemonaid Charity beer brewed to raise funds for the Children's Miracle Network Hospitals.

Classic Bohemian Pilsner. Crisp and Clean with a malty backbone. Delicious Czech Saaz hops balance the malt with a clean lingering bitterness and spicy character.

Our Gruit (Beer made with herbs) is crafted with the following botanicals grown organically in Garden Grove's Urban Garden (Spruce Tips, Lemon Balm, Sage, Pineapple Sage, Lemon Thyme, Rosemary, Mint) . Gold in color and refrershing.

Sessionable red ale crafted with US & UK hops. Prince would be proud.
Pushing the boundaries of Belgian beer into the realm of wine. We strive to bring out ripe and dark fruit flavors reminiscent of rich red wines by fermenting with 2016 Virginia Petit Verdot grapes grown in Garden Grove’s own vineyard at Arterra Winery. We then transferred our Quadruple into Cabernet Franc wine barrels just as primary fermentation slows and conducted an aging for 13 months. Death is a two time medal recipient winning in the 2016 & 2017 Virginia Craft Beer Cup.
A saison crafted for spring. Sessionable, dry, refreshing and complemented with a tasty selection of fruits and flowers. Fermented in red wine barrels.
